Cool Effect CO2 reduction certificate

How Carbon-Neutral Shipping works:

Every month, I purchase a Carbon Offset for every RambleTree order. I researched several non-profit organizations, and chose Cool Effect for their efficacy and transparency.
I contacted them directly, and their staff gave me this information on the average cost of CO2 reduction/offsets for ecommerce shipments:
Domestic Ground Shipping: $0.03
Air -or- International Shipping: $0.28

RambleTree, LLC makes a donation to Cool Effect at $0.30 per shipment for the previous month. Currently, most of my orders are Domestic Ground, so your shipment is offsetting CO2 at over 10 x the current rate.

For comparison, Etsy offsets at $0.01 per order.

I do this to have a bigger impact, and offset other areas of my business, such as:

  • Freight for product materials and packaging
  • Travel for art fairs and music performances
  • Studio utilities (heat, lights, etc.)
